Acorn Hollow North Georgia: May Report

On May 8th, Acorn Hollow North Georgia had an activity focused on holy symbols. The children looked through the booklet “The Holy Symbols of Our Folk”, then we headed outside, booklet in hand to discuss symbols and symbolism and to see how many symbols we could find in nature! After all, isn’t nature where the first symbols came from. We hiked along and found many.

The spiral on a snail’s shell, a forked twig that made a Tiwaz rune, another that made Laguz, the trefoil of a clover, more Gebo runes then I dared count made from fallen sticks, to name just a few. The older kids really enjoyed this scavenger hunt of sorts. Jovie, being a 3 year old, was much more interested in a caterpillar she found. But that to is a symbol of consuming wisdom and knowledge to meditate on for transformation I guess, so she did good too!

All in all it was a fun learning experience for everyone!

Hail the next generation!
