Temporary Temples

There are times in our lives when wyrd plunges us into some very difficult circumstances. So when synchronicities suggest that you do something, which ostensibly is going to contribute to their deepening, one questions the sanity of the decision! Such has been my situation with practically no income to replenish my dwindling reserves. So when synchronicity tapped me on the shoulder and showed me an opportunity to fulfil an ambition to visit and experience the energies of a couple of crop circles, I had the most seriously sombre conversation with my inner Bag lady! Happily, the loopy lady consented with a toothy grin- and is still smiling manically!
Earth Day Healing Rite
Planet Earth is a living, breathing entity. We have all at some point in our schooling come across the subject of geography, which describes Earth’s terrain in terms of Her structure- mountains, continents, rivers, rocks and so forth. This is her skeleton.
2nd International Guardians Weekend
This year we a repeating this event and we would like as many Hearth’s, individuals and friends of the OR as possible to get involved and plan an activity or activities for some time over the designated weekend.
Delamere Litter Pick.
Today some members of Frey’s Beacon OR Hearth met up in Delamere forest for a litter pick. Those present were Neil AOR, Aidan, Sean and myself. We were also joined by Pat and her daughter Sally, who although not Odinist, wanted to help clean up this beautiful Forest.

Deforestation & Bio-fuels

For many years now, environmental campaign groups have been calling for much greater use of alternative energy sources in an attempt to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. For a long time they were ignored by the big global industries; but over the last few years there has been a massive surge in interest from the multi-nationals and governments towards the use and production of bio-fuels. Why?
Wyre Marsh coastal clean up
Freysbeacon Guardians met up as planned for a clean up of the Wyre salt marsh in North west England. There was literally tons of rubbish which is brought in on a high tide, most of the rubbish was plastic drinks bottles in which we cleared hundreds from the area.

Frey’s Beacon Guardians will be meeting up at 1.00pm on the 8th of Lenting/March at Johnny’s house. From there we will travell by car’s to the Fernhill Pub in Preesall where we will then take a short walk to the Wyre Salt marshes on the coast. The area is really bad with litter, most of which seems to be plastic bottles. Please feel free to come along and join in.
Laundry and the butterfly: a study into the harm done by conventional detergents
In this article I have sought to briefly explore and explain the harmful effects that conventional household washing/cleaning detergents can have upon the environment, it’s ecosystems, and of course us, for we are of course inextricably linked to the fate and welfare of our surrounding natural environment.

After being inspired by this years OR Great Moot and also by the sterling work carried out by The Guardians of The White Horse Stone (GOWHS), we the good Folk of Frey’s Beacon decided that we would become more pro-active in the coming cycle.
