Gunnar in his debut matches : Subleague Q2- mens beginner division

From early times the need for self defence was paramount. Our earliest ancestors had to compete with others and with the raw energy of nature, the beasts of the wild. In this conflict we had an immediate disadvantage. We were not equipped with claws, horns or tusks, nor were we heavily armoured or fleet of foot. The one advantage we did have over the wild beasts was the ability of conceptual thought.

Gunnar came up short in his return, although he grappled well it was obvious he lost focus after a day of Vegas distractions, the second day when his turn came it was more for the fun of it than for winning. Like they say you always learn more from your losses than from your victories.

All that hard work and dedication finally pays off for 16 year old Erika! She now knows the meaning of Perseverance. A real credit to the team and her folk. Onwards and upwards.
