Getting to know your Fetch
By Volksieg AOR
The Fetch, as many of you may know, is an entity who is with you, throughout all your incarnations, acting as a guide to greater spiritual development and, when the relationship between Odinist and Fetch is fully developed, it is entirely possible that it can act as a protector in this realm also. Continue reading
Our Personal Energy
By Hariulf OR
“… Everything is Energy…”
I must admit that it’s something which I had never really thought of but it really struck me when I read it for the first time. Maybe that does not seem to be a big secret or a great truth, but I think that it is something very important to consider if we want to advance both spiritually and physically. Continue reading
Forward As One – Personal And Unified Advancement Within The Odinic Rite
By Redwald AOR
As a religious movement that is not seen as mainstream yet, it should be viewed necessary to cast an occasional critical eye on ourselves – our attitude, our achievements and our ability to mobilise folk and resources to our best advantage. Continue reading
Yggdrasil – Interconnections and Dependency
By Ulfhethnar Odinsen AOR
The tree is a common motif in our sacred mythology as well as in that of various cultures world-wide. Yet nowhere does it seem to have left such an indelible mark as it has in the Nordic cultures of Europe. From the mighty ash tree Yggdrasil to our progenitors Askr and Embla, the Ash and Elm. Continue reading
Maturing
By James W AOR
The path for most of us, takes us on very different routes and sometimes it is not the easiest route to take. As a matter of fact it is usually full of many speed bumps for all of us. Sometimes the Norns weave a web for us that tests our spirits, our hearts and our commitment to the Gods and Goddesses which will push us to find our own ways. Steadfastness, the ability to stay focused and a good dose of stubbornness is needed in every Odinist that is working to further the awakening of the folk spirit. Continue reading
About Industriousness
As OR members, we are expected to live our lives according to the Nine Noble Virtues. Of course, this is not an easy task and it’s even very difficult at times. But we all join the OR by our free will and it’s by our free will that we have accepted to work to promote the OR and Odinism. It’s by our free will that we accept to strive to live by the NNV. Nobody forces us; it’s our own choice. Among the NNV, there is one that I find very important if we want to see our Sacred Faith advance: INDUSTRIOUSNESS Continue reading
A brief synopsis of the nine noble virtues in the modern world
By Rory H. AOR
Courage
A small word I am sure that everyone would agree, and not a word that is heard too much these days. Whether that is because of the current trend for people to be mindless, state …
ORBriefing: A Lifeline for Lone Members
Look what the OR can do for me! Look what it offers! These comments I thought to myself many times, then it dawned on me, if nobody submitted articles to ORBriefing, if nobody took time to organize and work on things, then there would be nothing for the rest of us to enjoy and look forward to! I had a stranger email me, wondering whether I was Odinic or Pagan. This person did not even bother to introduce themselves. Are people becoming more rude, or are those of us in the public eye subject to personal questions out of the blue from strangers? I’m not sure. It made me cranky, and not just because of the intrusion and lack of manners. It made me cranky because last year some guy in the Texas prison system who has been writing me for years suddenly decided I was no longer Odinic. He cited the fact I don’t follow the Odinic Rite calendar to the letter, and that I celebrate May Eve, which proves out I’m a pagan, and worthy of sudden distrust. Wow. Continue reading
Wyrd

Of Words and deeds like pebbles thrown
Into the deep clear lake of time
Their ripples touch our thoughts and hopes
And weave their subtle rhyme Continue reading
