Memories

By Hodekin AOR

From the dappled leaves of the wooded glade
I look back in time to a darker forest from my past
Here in my blood courses the ancestral memory
Of when we destroyed the legions amidst the trees.

From the windy beaches of my beloved Isle
I look back in time to an older shoreline from my past
Here in my blood courses the ancestral memory
Of when we braved the waves to cross the Northern sea.

From the warm comfort of my modern home
I look back in time to a harsher home from my past
Here in my blood courses the ancestral memory
Of when we won a new land for our folk

So the seas were crossed
The battles were fought
And the land was won
But we slumbered and allowed thieves to steal our soul

What else now but to look to the Gods we forgot
To regain our ancient faith
To ensure our future destiny
To awaken the blood of our Folk.
