What it means to be Folkish

Recently I was engaged in a rather heated and lengthy debate with some people close to me about my Folkish beliefs and the general Folkish stance of our organisation, the Odinic Rite.

The Importance of Preserving Heritage, Tradition and Race.

By Sam Coles AOR Without a specific heritage to claim as their birthright, people are rootless and consequently drift through life without knowing or understanding where they came from, who they really are, or where they’re truly going. It has also been said that without the solid foundation of heritage, it is not possible to build anything that will last and stay the course, and that includes a folk community. Although this applies to every racial group, in this short article I will be focusing primarily on the situation of the Indo-European Folk.

Idun Project expands in SE England

Members of the OR met up on Sunday 22nd August to help Hengest clear his new allotment and ready the plot for propagation. If you've never rented an allotment before, then you have no idea how much blood sweat and tears it takes to knock an overgrown and neglected plot into shape. My blistered hands and aching body are witness to how much work we did.

Thor & Sif

,
Few of our divinities have been as much maligned by mythological compilers as Thor. There is no doubt that in the elder days he was an extremely popular god, one who was considered to be the patron of the people, a ready champion in times of trouble.

Giants and the reliability of received mythology (from the Eddas, Snorri and Saxo)

The Circle of Ostara

,
The Circle of Ostara is a Magical Order associated with (but not officially a part of) the Odinic Rite, together working to further the awakening of our people. The Circle itself has a long history, and has developed its own system of mystico/magical practice.

ODINISM AND PRIDE

The Odinic code is natural, life-affirming, and noble, and very often in direct contrast to the Judeo/Christian code. This is seen in many examples, but for the sake of space let us look at just one - PRIDE.

Frey’s Beacon Guardians

,
After being inspired by this years OR Great Moot and also by the sterling work carried out by The Guardians of The White Horse Stone (GOWHS), we the good Folk of Frey’s Beacon decided that we would become more pro-active in the coming cycle.

Odinic Rite Vinland Folk Camp 2257

By Kathy Metzger AOR What can I say....another ORV Moot in the pages of OR history. It started as any other Moot, Donar's Hearth members running ragged getting all the preparations in place, finishing our shirts, booklets, food prep, etc... I mark the beginning of Moot at the Portland Airport at 2:30 am picking up our OR Brother Andy from Ontario, Canada. It is was awesome to meet him and honored he made such a long trip to attend Moot!
