Trees and Men

by Seb AOR At all times, the peoples of Northern Europe have had a special relationship with trees. We find this relationship in our mythology and in our folklore. But we also find it in the everyday life, a symbiosis between men and trees. Indeed, without trees, there certainly never would have been life on earth. This article aims to put forward this symbiotic relationship between trees and men.

LAW, JUSTICE, FREEDOM

AS A PEOPLE we are noted for our law-abiding qualities or recognition of the need for order. As Odinists we realise even more the need for order if we are to flourish. Nature is ordered, a fact which escapes many hippy-type heathens. If order breaks down chaos descends. So what is order?

The Great Year

The Web of Wyrd is by no means a static construction. It is motion made manifest. The flashing patterns of energy within the heart of the atom, the wheeling dance of galaxies and stars, all is motion. It is within this concept of a cosmos in continual, rhythmic, patterned motion that the idea of the "Great Year" must be considered.

Gealdor/Mantra as an OR practice

In the early days of this new overt resurgence of our glorious religion, the use of gealdor was somewhat overlooked in Blotar and personal practice. In fact some treated it with suspicion. Of course the fact that most (if not all) blot included hailing the Gods can be seen as practicing a mantra without consciously realizing it; for in a way these can be seen as a simple mantra. However it was not generally perceived as such and runic gealdor was only practiced by a few.

Finding Ourselves Through Odinism

WITH every advance in science the order that exists within the physical universe becomes more apparent. Nothing is haphazard. And it becomes increasingly difficult for any thinking person to dismiss a metaphysical dimension to the universe.
